Back pain can be caused by muscle imbalance. There are other reasons to have pain here but the Sacrowedgy helps muscles relax and create balance and in turn helps control a variety of symptoms. By relaxing on the Sacrowedgy with the sacrum elevated and hips free to drop and relax, the muscles now have a chance to relax, re-balance and release using gravity and your body weight. A tight muscle isn’t going to relax until it has somewhere to go. The Sacrowedgy placed under the sacrum, combined with proper neck support, provides this space allowing balance to occur.

Lying and relaxing on the Sacrowedgy for 10 to 20 minutes a day is the crucial part of helping muscles return to a proper balance. The Sacrowedgy is placed under the sacrum to isolate, cradle and elevate this very important “wedged” shape bone between the hips.

Creation of the Sacrowedgy was based on a widely used osteopathic technique of placing the hand under the sacrum and elevating that bone. The hips were then free to relax on either side of the hand. The Sacrowedgy does basically the same thing.

Why have male and female versions? Males and female sacrums have slightly different shapes. The average female sacrum is a little wider and shorter, because of the birth canal, than the more narrow, longer male sacrum.
